Samantha French

Samantha French with Buttons & Willis |
Samantha French, Esq . had been a life long athlete and a frequent runner for five years, but it took the inspiration of her cat, Sawyer, to give her the motivation to attempt her first marathon. She completed all 26.2 miles of the New York City Marathon “drawing the strength for each step from the knowledge that [her] efforts will help further the cause of homeless animals in New York City and beyond.”
She chose an animal charity to demonstrate her deep concern for the population of homeless dogs and cats and to show appreciation for the positive ways in which Sawyer has impacted her life. Initially, Sam had difficulty finding an animal related charity, but after consulting the New York City Bar Association's Animal Law Committee, she decided the Humane Society of the New York should receive her largess.
After training for more than half a year, Sam's first marathon was a great success. She completed the race in 5:01:14, and found the experience so rewarding that she is now considering participating in the Great Wall Marathon in the Tianjin Province of China.
We thank Sam for her generosity and wish her the best of luck in China.
